PR5c: Store Written Material

Saving Work
Nearly every modern computer programme available today has a save as feature, Save as allows you to save your work in many different formats to your computers internal Hard Drive or Network, Save as is useful as it allows you to change the format of the saved work such as saving a Photoshop document as a jpeg or jpg.

Saving work to a USB allows you to take it wherever you please due to USB devices being essentially the same as small PC internal storage, You can then copy the work to the next PC or other compatible device from the USB so that you have 2 copies of the work, one on the USB and one on the PC this adds a lot more flexibility to when and where you work and makes your life generally more convenient.



Copyright

Copyright is a term given to pieces of work created by a certain individual or individuals. Copyright allows content creators to show ownership of their content by way of dates on files or watermarks on images etc. and allows the owners to use and have laws protecting copyrighted products enforced on people who commit plagiarism.

Script for video game introduction
Fantasy survival

(Exterior shot)(Forest)(Dark) Fade into mid range shot of a cloaked figure in a moonlight lit forest shambling towards a gap between the huge roots of a towering tree, form hidden under cloak so as to not suggest gender (due to character customization)
Next scene inside the tree, low lighting, depression in the middle of the ground bugs and parasites writhing within it.
(Interior)Character continues shambling towards the centre.
Movement seen in the shadows of the tree female raspy old voice spits
Hag:  “Leave this place”
Figure falls to knees arms limp by the sides. Figure begins to crawl towards hole in ground exhausted and lifeless clawing at the dirt, edging closer to the pit, the old woman edges closer also goading the figure and cursing.
Figures hands reach out and grab handfuls of writhing creatures and pulls ever closer, Turning onto their back the figure is sucked into the hole engulfed in crawling creatures.
 Camera zooms closer into figures eyes as they widen in pain and the figure is entirely engulfed.
Camera then pans outwards as the hag chuckles leaning over into the pit. Reverse tracking esque shot of the tree in the forest.

Fade to black.

PR5a: Carry Out Research and Develop Ideas for Written Material

My game will take heavy inspiration from Dark Souls due to the fact I believe the style of game and way the game is presented is unique and successful, To start my research I began by brushing up on my knowledge of the game by reading the overview/summary of the Souls series via these links.

Dark Souls Overview 



This video is a crash course of sorts on the world and setting of Dark Souls it helped me understand things I didnt know a provided further insight into the things I did know.

Dark Souls is a 3rd person action role playing game centered around surviving encounters with giant and terrifying monsters, Defeating said enemies makes your character more powerful and more able to take on even stronger beasts. The games story is very obscure and you have to scour almost every area to learn of the world the game is set in,  The few cutscenes in the game give little insight into why your character is doing the things they are doing. This style of story telling in a game helps players focus on gameplay and keeps their interest by teasing story to players here and there letting them discover as much or as little as they want by not forcing it upon players.

Having decided on a clear basis for my game I created a mind map to compile my ideas.
